Trend of the Week
I am a vegetarian and I did just buy a leather suede jacket. *gasp* The only way that I could justify buying it was because it was at a fair trade market and it was a garment that was already worn by someone else. During my time at this shop in the market, I was talking to the owners and was asking if they had any vegan leather or any fabric jackets that had fringe on them as well. Jokingly, they asked if I was a vegetarian and I seriously said yes. They were excited to hear about it because they told me that this particular jacket was punched from someone named David Crockett in the 80s which was kind of ironic. This couple wanted to ensure that I knew that I was buying a used item and was just giving it new life. I think this is something we all should be focusing on and make a stronger effort to be more aware of our shopping actions and how it impacts the world.
Recently, I saw this Prada bag and it is Y2K as heck. I saw the newest Prada Cleo bag and I like that style significantly more than the Re-edition 2000s nylon bags. Speaking it into existence that this will be my next purchased bag. Personally, my style is more sophisticated with a taste of today’s trends. I just think that 2000s is still a trend, but we are slowly transitioning to be a more sophisticated society and will be going back to the silhouettes and refined styles from the 40s and 50s.
I created this edit to speak on the power that any woman holds for herself. It is 2020 and a woman should be able to take care of her on her own. My goal is to be able to have a good career that allows me to take care of myself instead of having to rely on anyone else in my life. I am continually a hard worker and make sure that I always have adequate money saved up for whatever my next journey is.
I hope seeing some of my daily styles will inspire you to experiment with your everyday looks….
My mantra for 2020 is to be a more sustainable consumer..I have not bought from a fast fashion retailer and I work on recycling my clothing by selling my garments on depop.
